Temvert Foundation awards scholarship to four indigent pupils

The Temvert Empowerment Foundation, on April 27, 2026, awarded scholarships to four indigent students of Omoladun Memorial Golden School in Osogbo, Osun State, covering their school fees for one academic term.

The beneficiaries are Oparinde Pamilerin and Ibrahim Muinat, both in Basic 6, as well as Adeboye Fathia and Adeleke Basit of Junior Secondary School 1. They were selected based on their vulnerable financial backgrounds and the risk of disruption to their education.

The intervention, part of the foundation’s grassroots education support efforts, is aimed at ensuring that children from low income households are not forced out of school due to inability to meet financial obligations.

The initiative drew commendation within the school community, with teachers and parents describing it as timely and impactful in sustaining the pupils’ academic pursuits.

The proprietor of the school, Samuel Babarinde, described the gesture as both meaningful and necessary.

“Some pupils attend school with deep uncertainty arising from financial challenges at home. This support has eased that burden and renewed their confidence in continuing their education,” he said.

He noted that such interventions are crucial in addressing dropout risks and promoting stability in learning among vulnerable pupils.

Speaking on the development, the Executive Director of the foundation, Temitayo Olatunde, said the initiative underscores the organisation’s commitment to improving access to education in underserved communities.

“We recognise the difficulties many families face in sustaining their children’s education. Our intervention is aimed at ensuring that financial hardship does not deprive any child of learning opportunities,” he said.

He added that the scholarship support, which is named after Fatima Olatunde, reflects the foundation’s values of compassion and its continued focus on child centred interventions.

The foundation reiterated its commitment to sustaining education support programmes targeted at indigent pupils across communities.
