Temvert Empowerment Foundation Distributes 500 Sanitary Pads to Ogun Schoolgirls

Temvert Empowerment Foundation has distributed 500 sanitary pads to female students of Ode Remo High School, Remo, Ogun State, as part of its ongoing Campaign Against Menstrual Poverty Among School Girls.

The intervention followed an invitation from the school through Valerie Dada, who called the attention of the foundation to the prevailing issue of menstrual poverty among female students in the school.

During the visit, representatives of the foundation, Olusola Ogundijo and Oluwadamilola Adepoju, engaged the girls on menstrual hygiene, period dignity, and proper menstrual health management.

The session also provided an opportunity for the students to ask questions and receive practical guidance on how to manage their menstrual health safely and confidently.

Speaking on the intervention, the foundation said the outreach was aimed at supporting girls who may struggle to access sanitary pads and helping them remain comfortable, confident, and focused in school during their periods.

As part of the outreach, 500 sanitary pads were distributed to the students to reduce the burden many of them face in managing their periods.

Teachers at Ode Remo High School appreciated Temvert Empowerment Foundation for responding to the need and described the intervention as timely and meaningful for the students.

The foundation also appreciated Valerie Dada for bringing the situation to its attention and commended the school for opening its doors to the intervention.

The foundation stated that the exercise forms part of its wider Campaign Against Menstrual Poverty Among School Girls, which seeks to promote menstrual dignity, improve school attendance, and support access to basic hygiene materials for girls.
