Temvert Empowerment Foundation has continued its campaign against menstrual poverty with the distribution of sanitary pads to schoolgirls at Ajimoko High School in Ilesa, Osun State.
The outreach, which reached several girls in the school, was part of the organisation’s ongoing effort to support young people and address challenges that can affect girls’ education and well being. The sanitary pads were provided to help the students manage their menstrual health with dignity and remain active in school without disruption.
Speaking during the outreach, representatives of the foundation emphasised that menstrual poverty remains a challenge for many schoolgirls, particularly in public schools where access to basic menstrual hygiene products is often limited. Lack of these products can lead to absenteeism and reduced participation in school activities.
The distribution was received with appreciation by the students, who expressed gratitude for the support. For many of them, the gesture provided reassurance that their needs are recognised and that they have support beyond the classroom.
Temvert Empowerment Foundation noted that initiatives like this form part of its broader commitment to empowering young people through programmes that support education, wellbeing, and equal opportunities for boys and girls.
The organisation reaffirmed its dedication to continuing community outreach efforts aimed at ensuring that no student’s education is interrupted due to lack of access to basic needs.
