Temvert Empowerment Foundation to co-host event on Fashion, Trade, Empowerment

Temvert Empowerment Foundation will co-host a virtual event on how fashion can create jobs, support small businesses and open global markets for young Nigerians, in partnership with Ibadan Urban Fashion Week (IUFW).

Themed Made Local, Worn Global: Fashion as a Pathway to Trade, Enterprise and Youth Empowerment, the 90 minute event will hold in November 2026, at 6:00 PM UK time (GMT), which is 7:00 PM Nigeria time (WAT).

It will bring together a government voice, a trade expert, an established fashion founder, a young creator and a civil society leader, who will discuss how culture, craft and design can become products with value in the global market. The panel will also look at trade and market access, technology and sustainability, and how fashion enterprise can help reduce youth unemployment and poverty.

Founder and Executive Director of Temvert Empowerment Foundation,
Temitayo Olatunde, said the theme reflects how fashion shows that local talent can reach the world.

“We are glad to join Ibadan Urban Fashion Week in creating a space where young creators, policy makers and business leaders can talk about real opportunities and how to open doors for small fashion businesses,” he said.

The organisers said the event is open to young designers, fashion entrepreneurs, students, trade and policy professionals, and anyone interested in how creative enterprise can drive jobs and economic growth.

Ibadan Urban Fashion Week is a fashion platform that celebrates creativity and enterprise in Ibadan and beyond.
