Public policy analyst and international development advocate, Temitayo Olatunde, has been appointed as a Member of the Conference Committee of the United Nations Association UK (UNA-UK), one of the United Kingdom’s leading organisations working to promote support for the United Nations and a stronger, rules-based international system.
The appointment was confirmed by Hana Shono, Chair of the UNA-UK Conference Committee, and will run until the organisation’s next annual conference. In the role, Olatunde will contribute to the planning and delivery of the conference, supporting discussions that bring together policymakers, diplomats, civil society leaders, academics and other stakeholders to examine pressing global and international policy issues.
Founded in 1945, UNA-UK has for decades worked to build public and political support for the United Nations, champion human rights, international cooperation and multilateralism, and engage the British public in global affairs. Olatunde’s appointment adds to his growing engagement in international policy and development. Through the Temvert Empowerment Foundation, which he leads, he has participated in major global platforms including the World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings, World Trade Organisation engagements, the United Nations General Assembly and the ECOSOC Youth Forum.
Speaking on the appointment, Olatunde said the opportunity would allow him to contribute to meaningful conversations on the role of multilateral institutions and the future of international cooperation.
