Temvert Empowerment Foundation Gets Accreditation to 2026 UN Water Conference

Temvert Empowerment Foundation has been granted Special Accreditation to attend the 2026 UN Water Conference, holding from December 8 to 10 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The accreditation was confirmed in a letter addressed to the Foundation’s Executive Director, Temitayo Olatunde, congratulating the organization on its approval to participate in the global conference.

Temvert Empowerment Foundation is a Nigerian based civil society organization working to reduce the number of out of school children in the country. The Foundation runs several programs including scholarships, distribution of school materials, the Girls Rise Project, and the Equip the Students Project. The organization has also engaged at international platforms before now, including World Bank and IMF meetings as well as WTO ministerial conferences.

Speaking on the development, Temitayo Olatunde said, “This accreditation is another step in our commitment to taking Nigeria’s education crisis beyond our borders. For years, we have used platforms like the World Bank, IMF, and WTO meetings to remind the world that education cannot be separated from the everyday realities children face, and water is one of those realities. Millions of Nigerian children are out of school partly because of the burden clean water places on their families and communities. We intend to use this platform to keep pushing that conversation and to hold policy makers accountable to the children we work for.”

More details on the Foundation’s participation and registration for the conference are expected in the coming weeks.
